Tour Itinerary

• Days 1-2: UK - Tokyo

  Fly overnight to Tokyo, arriving on day 2. Get to know your travelling companions over a welcome drink and dinner.

• Day 3: Tokyo

  Discover the traditional temples, shrines and gardens that sit alongside ultra-modern skyscrapers and designer shopping outlets on your included tour. You’ll stop at the Imperial Palace, the main residence of the Emperor of Japan, and experience an authentic rickshaw ride. Tonight, enjoy dinner whilst cruising the Sudima River on board a traditional Yakataburne boat.

• Day 4: Tokyo - Atami

  Today you’ll visit Japan’s tallest peak, Mount Fuji. Cruise along Lake Ashi for fabulous views of Fuji, before visiting Owakudani, a volcanic valley with active sulphur and hot springs.

• Day 5: Atami - Kyoto

  Transfer to Kyoto on Japan’s famous Bullet Train. On your tour, you’ll visit the famous Golden Pavilion, a stunning temple covered with pure gold leaf and the stunning Heian Shrine, before sightseeing in the Gionarea. This is Kyoto’s most famous Geisha district and is filled with teahouses where Geisha entertain.

• Day 6: Kyoto

  Today, visit the beautiful Kiyomizu Temple, which is built into the side of a mountain, and the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum, before heading to Fushimi Inari, a vast tribute to the gods of rice and sake. Today concludes with a traditional Uji Japanese tea ceremony.

• Day 7: Kyoto

  Visit historic Nara, the ‘City of Temples’. Here you will see Todaiji Temple, with its huge bronze Buddha statue, and Deer Park, home to hundreds of free-roaming deer. In the afternoon, visit Osaka, stopping for photographs at the beautiful Osaka Castle.

• Day 8: Kyoto - Hiroshima

  Hiroshima is an intriguing city with many fascinating sights, you’ll head here today by Bullet Train. Visit Miyajima Island, one of the most scenic spots in Japan, known for the floating shrine of Itsukushima.

• Day 9: Hiroshima - Okayama

  Your Hiroshima sightseeing tour today takes in the poignant sights of the Peace Memorial Park and A-Bomb Museum. Dedicated to Hiroshima’s nuclear bombing in the Second World War, the park was built on an open field created by the explosion. After your visit, stop by the beautiful Shukkeien Garden, whose name means ‘landscape garden in miniature’ and is an imitation of West Lake in Hangzhou, China.

• Day 10: Okayama - Kobe

  Head to the pretty port city of Kobe for an overnight stay. En route, you’ll pass by Himeji Castle, a fantastic hillside complex dating back to 1333.

• Days 11-12: Osaka - UK

  Transfer to Osaka for your return flight to the UK.
